Basrah Crude Prices Slide Amid Global Oil Market Decline
Iraq's Basrah crude oil prices declined in sync with global benchmarks on Thursday. The price drop was moderate, with Basrah Heavy crude falling by less than 1% to $73.12 per barrel. This decline is part of a broader trend affecting major global oil markets.
Basrah Medium crude also experienced a slight decrease, slipping to $76.42 per barrel, which is down 0.75%. Brent crude and US West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude both saw price drops as well, falling by 1.1% and 1.4%, respectively.
OPEC's basket of oil prices also declined, dropping to $109.53 a barrel after a loss of $2.22 or 1.99%. The current market conditions are causing fluctuations in the global oil market, with various factors contributing to these changes.
