Bay of Bengal Weather Hampers LNG Transfer, Gas Supply Disrupted

The transfer of liquefied natural gas (LNG) from cargo vessels to floating storage regasification units (FSRUs) in Maheshkhali has been disrupted due to adverse weather, affecting the supply of regasified LNG (RLNG) and overall gas supply.

Bangladesh Oil, Gas and Mineral Corporation (Petrobangla) issued a press release stating that the disruption led to a reduction in gas supply below normal levels. The company attributed the issue to 'unavoidable circumstances' caused by weather conditions in the Bay of Bengal.

Petrobangla assured customers that gas supply will return to normal once weather conditions improve.
