BayWa Sells Solar Project Amid Financial Overhaul
BayWa's renewable energy arm, BayWa r.e., has sold its Bavarian solar project 'Gresselgrund' to iAccess Energy. The ground-mounted installation will have a planned capacity of 22 megawatt-peak and a battery storage unit rated at 60 megawatt-hours.
The sale is part of BayWa's financial overhaul, which includes divestments and digital upgrades. On September 28, BayWa and AGRAVIS Raiffeisen AG unveiled a modernized version of ab-auction.com, a used agricultural machinery marketplace that has been in partnership since 2013.
BayWa is facing challenges from falling grain prices, which are squeezing earnings across the sector. According to Agrarzeitung, AGRAVIS has overtaken BayWa in core agricultural trading business by revenue. The company's creditor coalition is nearing full alignment on a revised restructuring arrangement, with 267 of 268 financing partners backing the term sheet.
