BHP Ditches M&A for Copper Growth
BHP's copper growth plans have been priced at US$44.7 billion on a 100% basis and $32.9 billion on an equity-apportioned basis, according to Barry Fitzgerald of Mining News Net.
The company is looking to build its copper business rather than through mergers and acquisitions (M&A).
Fitzgerald noted that the media had been 'hoopla'-ing about BHP's copper expansion plans last week, implying an overly enthusiastic response from some quarters.
