BHP Group's profit surged by nearly a third to $13.2 billion in the 12 months through June, driven by strong commodity prices and increased iron ore output.

The world's largest miner reported its highest underlying profit since 2018, beating analyst estimates and marking a significant shift as copper revenue surpassed iron ore for the first time.

BHP will pay a final dividend of 99 cents, its highest in four years, equating to a 72% payout ratio, according to filings on Tuesday.
