Bin Salman Warns of Uncertain Global Energy Crisis Amid Regional Tensions
Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman has warned that the world is facing an uncertain energy crisis. He made this statement during his annual speech opening the third year of the ninth session of the Saudi Shura Council on September 30, 2026.
Mohammed bin Salman emphasized that Saudi Arabia has played a crucial role in maintaining global energy security by continuing to supply oil to international markets despite rising regional tensions. He also highlighted the Kingdom's efforts to form a Multinational Maritime Defense Alliance, aimed at strengthening maritime security and preventing trade routes from being used as instruments of political or economic pressure.
The Crown Prince stressed the need for collective action, strategic cooperation, and economic integration among Gulf Cooperation Council member states in the face of regional threats. He also reaffirmed Saudi Arabia's support for the Yemeni government through its coalition to restore stability and counter Houthi attacks.
