Bitcoin Corrects Below $80,000 as Gold Rebounds Amid Steady Inflation
The price of Bitcoin has edged lower to around $78,000 on Wednesday, following last week's rally and subsequent rejection at $81,000. This correction reflects cooling sentiment in the market due to overheated conditions and increased profit-taking.
Gold is also retracing, testing support at $4,600 as investors weigh the implications of recent US inflation data. The annual Personal Consumption Expenditures (PCE) Price Index held steady at 3.7% YoY in July, exceeding market expectations of 3.6%. Meanwhile, the core PCE Price Index remained unchanged at 3.3%, in line with forecasts.
Market attention now turns to Friday's Jackson Hole central bankers' symposium, where Fed Chairman Kevin Warsh is anticipated to offer a fresh perspective on the Federal Reserve's near-term policy outlook.
