Black Sea Grain Exports Hit by Rising Shipping Risks Amid Ongoing Conflicts
Russia's grain export terminals on the Black Sea are facing shipping risks due to ongoing conflicts in the region. According to sources, three major terminals have restricted grain deliveries by truck amid rising concerns about safety.
The terminals, NZT and KSK in Novorossiysk and ZTKT in Taman, can ship more than 20 million tons of grain annually but are now limiting intake due to increased risks. This is despite the fact that Russia's annual seaborne grain exports total around 50 million tons.
The restrictions on truck deliveries at these terminals mean that only grain from southern Russian regions delivered by rail will be accepted, with about a third of the grain handled by those two terminals arriving by truck currently.
