Blaney Seizes Pole Position at Iowa Speedway

Ryan Blaney secured the pole for Sunday's Iowa Corn 350 Powered by Ethanol after navigating the 0.875-mile Iowa Speedway in 23.474 seconds (134.191 mph) on his second qualifying lap.

This marked Blaney's first pole at Iowa, where he won the inaugural NASCAR Cup Series race in 2024, and his second of the season, bringing his total to 15 career poles.

Defending series champion Kyle Larson will start alongside Blaney on the front row after qualifying second with a speed of 134.088 mph, narrowly missing Blaney's pole by just 0.018 seconds.

Ryan Blaney expressed relief at securing the pole, citing that he 'had a lane in mind that I wanted to run, and I missed it on my first lap.' He adjusted his approach for the second lap and was able to post a better time.
