Bosnia-Herzegovina's Drought-Stricken Farmers Face Catastrophic Harvest

A severe drought is affecting Bosnia and Herzegovina's agricultural production, leading to significant losses in crops such as vegetables, corn, and fruit.

Nasir Karijašević, a vegetable producer from Janja, is struggling to protect his crops through irrigation, but the drought is unlike anything he has experienced before.

Corn, fruit, and vegetable crops are particularly affected, while farmers are also struggling with high production costs due to rising fuel and fertilizer prices.

Nedžad Bćo, president of the FBiH Farmers' Association, warns that the situation could become even more serious if the current weather conditions continue, predicting a 'catastrophic' outcome for silage corn harvests and vegetable and fruit crops.
