BP Ditches Browse LNG Stake to Osaka Gas
BP has announced that it will sell its stake in the Browse liquefied natural gas (LNG) project to Osaka Gas, a Japanese city gas supplier and LNG importer. The sale marks another significant development in the global energy landscape.
The news comes as Daniel Kalms, Woodside's executive vice president and chief operating officer international, leaves his position at the Australian LNG player. Woodside is involved in several high-profile projects, including the Pluto LNG project, where it has installed the final module for Train 1 modifications.
Osaka Gas has been expanding its presence in the energy sector, having recently completed a ship-to-ship LNG bunkering operation in Osaka Bay. The company is also involved in the development of e-methane production through its partnership with TotalEnergies and other Japanese firms.
