BrasilAgro Sees Strong Soy and Corn Growth Amid Volatility
BrasilAgro's Q4 earnings call was marked by cautious optimism as executives acknowledged a tough year but stressed strong soy and corn productivity, disciplined costs, currency hedging, and land-value gains. The company reported an all-time-high planted area of 167,000 hectares, underscoring the scale of its operations, with a land portfolio valued at BRL 3.1 billion.
The value creation through land transformation and regional diversification was highlighted by management, with nearly BRL 95 million in additional value generated from area maturity alone. Soy production rose 19% driven mainly by higher productivity per hectare, while corn output jumped 30% despite a slightly reduced planted area.
BrasilAgro's operational EBITDA overall resembled last year's levels, but soy and corn stood out as clear positives. Higher tonnage, better margins, and stable costs supported earnings in these crops, with corn benefiting from a larger planted area and stronger sales to ethanol producers.
