Brazil's National Supply Company (CONAB) has released its initial forecasts for the new crop season, projecting that Brazil's corn production for the 2026/27 marketing year will reach a record high of 148 million tonnes, a 2.8% increase from the previous year.

This growth is driven by steady expansion in domestic demand for feed and corn-based ethanol, which are expected to continue growing throughout the season.

Exports for the 2026/27 season are forecast at 46.01 million tonnes, up from 43.90 million tonnes the previous year.

The increase in global corn supplies is likely to exert downward pressure on spot prices, resulting in a moderately bearish outlook for the market.
