Brazil Ditches Spot Market for Long-Term LNG Contracts
Rod Walton, Managing Editor of EnergyTech, reports on Brazil's shift in energy priorities. The country is moving away from spot market deals and towards long-term liquefied natural gas (LNG) contracts with U.S. exporters.
This shift comes as large-scale energy users, including Fortune 500 companies and mission-critical users such as military bases, universities, healthcare facilities, public safety, and data centers, prioritize net-zero carbon goals within the coming decades.
Evidence of this trend includes plans for renewable energy power purchase agreements, on-site resiliency projects like microgrids, combined heat and power, rooftop solar, energy storage, digitalization, and building efficiency upgrades.
