Brazil Sets Clearing Level for Taiwan’s Corn Imports

Taiwan's MFIG feed-grain buying group has made its latest import tender decision, booking about 65,000 metric tons of corn from Brazil. This move comes despite the tender inviting US and South African supply as well.

The deal was priced at a premium over the Chicago Board of Trade (CBOT) corn futures contract, with traders pegging it at around 223.97 US cents-a-bushel cost-and-freight (delivered) for December 2026. This suggests Brazil is currently setting the clearing level for physical corn during MFIG's shipment window.

The lack of US and South African bids despite being requested in the tender implies that these origins either can't match the economics or don't want to quote at this time. Brazilian offers dominated, with CJ International believed to be the seller.
