Brazil's Corn Exports Stall in September, Widening Gap With Last Year
Brazil's corn exports lost momentum in September, widening the gap with shipments from the same month last year. According to data from the Secretariat of Foreign Trade (Secex), Brazil shipped 4.60 million metric tons of corn through the fourth week of September, averaging approximately 255,400 metric tons per day.
This marks a decline of 25.7% from the 343,800 metric tons per day recorded in September 2025. The slowdown interrupts a recovery seen after a weak finish to August, when average daily exports were 32% below August 2025 levels.
The average price of corn exported in September was approximately $238.10 per metric ton, 20% more than in the same month last year. As a result, average daily revenue has declined less than shipment volumes, falling 10.9% year over year.
