Brazil's Grain Production Hits Record High in 2025-26 Crop Year

Brazil's grain production is expected to hit a record high in the 2025-26 crop year, according to the National Supply Co. (Conab). The country's total grain output will likely reach 361.7 million tonnes, up 2.6% from the previous year.

The increase is due to strong yields and expanded planted areas. Soybeans are projected to account for the largest share of production, reaching a record 180.4 million tonnes, supported by a 5.2% gain in productivity and a 1.3 million hectare increase in planted area.

Corn output is also expected to rise, with a total of 144 million tonnes forecasted for the 2025-26 crop year. The first corn crop recorded a productivity high of 7,191 kg/ha, while the second crop is projected at 112.1 million tonnes, just 1% below the previous record.

However, wheat production is expected to decline by 27%, with imports projected at 7.06 million tonnes due to reduced domestic supply.
