Brent Crude Falls as U.S.-Iran Tensions Weigh on Oil Markets
Brent crude oil prices fell on Tuesday, September 29, after U.S.-Iran tensions weighed on markets. The international oil benchmark dropped 1.19% to $104.10 a barrel.
This decline followed a sharp rally in the previous session, when Brent surged above $108 a barrel after U.S. President Donald Trump rejected Iran's offer to reopen the Strait of Hormuz and resume nuclear negotiations.
The West Texas Intermediate (WTI) benchmark also declined, dropping 1.49% to $91.22 a barrel.
Qatari mediators are facilitating further indirect talks between the U.S. and Iran this week, but progress is slow due to disagreements over key conditions.
