Brent Crude Falls Below $100 Per Barrel, Stocks Soar
Oil prices fell back below $100 per barrel on Thursday, sending stocks soaring as Brent crude plummeted 1.9% to $98.46 a barrel.
The decline in oil prices has eased some pressure on the stock market, with Treasury yields edging down to 4.95% from 4.96% late Wednesday.
Stocks of companies with big fuel bills were strong, with Carnival climbing 4% and American Airlines adding 2.2%, as lower oil prices could mean less pressure on costs for both themselves and their customers.
