Brent Crude Oil Poised for Sharp Increase Amid Volatile Middle East Conditions
Brent crude oil prices have been consolidating in recent days after breaking out of a bull flag pattern in mid-August. According to Michael J. Kramer, founder of Mott Capital Management, conditions in the Middle East remain volatile and Brent is poised to move sharply higher. A symmetrical triangle has formed on the chart, which could act as a bullish continuation pattern. The pattern consists of higher lows and lower highs.
The technical chart suggests that Brent could rise back towards $100, the high established on 23 July. However, if it reaches this price, there may be further room for growth, potentially up to $117, according to Kramer's projection. This would bring prices back to levels seen in early May. On the other hand, a breakdown through the lower boundary of the symmetrical triangle at around $90 could lead to a return to August lows near $82.
Kramer notes that a move above $95.50 would be enough for Brent to clear the downtrend and move beyond the previous lower high from 21 August. If this happens, it could signal a path to higher prices for Brent crude oil.
