Brent Crude Price Declines as Saudi Oil Export Concerns Ease

The Brent crude price declined by $1.57 per barrel to trade at $102.71 per barrel on Wednesday morning, as some concerns over Saudi Arabia's oil exports began to ease.

The Strait of Hormuz has seen reduced vessel traffic below its pre-war average, with only 15 vessels attempting to transit the area on Wednesday, out of which nine had their Automatic Identification System (AIS) turned off. However, this downward pressure was offset by reports that Saudi Arabia is offering crude oil to Asian buyers through ship-to-ship transfers off Oman's Sohar port.

US Energy Secretary Chris Wright stated that the key East-West pipeline to the Red Sea may be operational within days, and Riyadh is attempting to move oil through the Strait of Hormuz with US military assistance. This development has contributed to a decrease in concerns over Saudi Arabia's ability to export crude oil.
