Brent Crude Surpasses $100 as Global Oil Prices Soar
Global oil prices have surged on September 10th, 2026, as Brent crude surpassed $100 per barrel for the first time since July. The risk of prolonged disruption to oil supplies in the Gulf region continues to drive up prices. The conflict between the US and Iran has escalated, with tit-for-tat attacks increasing tensions.
The international price hike is affecting Vietnam's fuel market, with Petrolimex's retail prices remaining unchanged from September 3rd ahead of the new price adjustment scheduled for 3 PM. However, if gasoline prices increase by around 1,400 VND/liter as predicted, it could be one of the most significant price increases in recent times.
The refined fuel market is also under pressure, with diesel prices in the US hitting record highs amid disruptions to refining capacity and supply from the Middle East. The increasing pressure on crude oil is now spreading to refined products, adding to the challenge for Vietnam's domestic fuel prices.
