Brent Oil Posts Biggest Monthly Gain Since July Amid Steady Prices
Oil prices remained steady near $98 per barrel on Thursday in early Asian trade. This came after significant gains in the previous session and substantial monthly rises.
Brent crude futures rose by 12 cents, or 0.1%, to $98.15 a barrel at 00:45 GMT. In contrast, US West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude futures fell by 7 cents, or 0.1%, to $90.35 a barrel.
Wednesday saw both benchmarks rise about $1 per barrel. This month's price action has been notable, with Brent recording its biggest monthly gain since July at around 14% in September. WTI gained about 5% for the month.
