Bulgargaz Executive Director Georgi Tatarski proposed a 5.5% increase in the natural gas price for September compared to August.

The proposed price would be EUR 41.60/MWh, excluding access, transmission, excise duty and VAT.

Tatarski cited letters from district heating companies withdrawing earlier requests to reduce their contracted natural gas volumes as a reason for the price increase.

The share of Azerbaijani gas in the overall supply mix is declining, although it is the cheapest component, according to Tatarski.
