Bulgaria is considering increasing natural gas transit volumes to Ukraine through its territory. The move aims to strengthen energy cooperation and deepen economic ties between Sofia and Kyiv.

The Bulgarian government has expressed willingness to hold joint consultations with Ukrainian authorities to examine ways to expand the flow of natural gas toward Ukraine, according to newly appointed Ambassador to Ukraine Zlatin Krastev.

Krastev said Bulgaria is prepared to engage in discussions with Ukraine on opportunities to increase natural gas transit through Bulgarian infrastructure. This comes as Bulgaria looks to accelerate cooperation with Ukraine across the energy sector.
