Bureau Veritas has granted Approval in Principle to EXMAR for its converted LNG carrier FLNG concept. The approval supports offshore gas resource development through a floating liquefaction solution described as flexible and cost-effective.

The EXMAR design repurposes an existing membrane-type LNG carrier as a floating liquefied natural gas unit intended for operation in mild environments. This approach offers a practical way to shorten development schedules and lower capital investment while providing flexibility for offshore gas developments.
