Búzios Oil Field Expansion Hopes to Boost Brazilian Output
Brazil's Búzios oil field is undergoing significant developments as midstream company increases capacity.
The shallow water oil field, located in the Campos Basin offshore Brazil, is expected to see a boost in production with the upgrade of its midstream infrastructure. The project aims to increase the field's crude oil processing capacity from 150,000 barrels per day (bpd) to 300,000 bpd.
The move is part of an effort by upstream companies to maximize output and revenue from existing fields as global demand for crude continues to rise. Búzios, which has been in operation since 2000, currently produces around 120,000 barrels per day (bpd) of conventional oil.
