Bwari Women Find Financial Independence in Small Businesses
Women in Bwari Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory are turning to small-scale businesses to earn an income and support their households, inspired by a call from First Lady Senator Oluremi Tinubu.
43-year-old Mrs. Aisha Musa from Ushafa community has seen her daily life change since she started roasting corn on a charcoal stove in front of her home.
'Before now, I stayed at home most days because I didn’t have work to do,' Aisha said. 'My husband was carrying all the responsibility, and things were becoming very difficult because food prices kept increasing.'
Other women across Bwari are also embracing small businesses as a way of earning an honest living.
