Canada Grain Prices Rise Amid Russia Export Restrictions
Restrictions on shipping grain from Russia's shallow-water ports have been in place since July 10 due to safety concerns following drone strikes in the area, market sources told Reuters.
The restrictions are affecting exports of grain from these ports, which are located on the Black Sea. This development comes as global demand for grain is high, particularly after a bumper crop in North America.
Meanwhile, in Western Canada, average grain prices have been reported by PDQ, owned by the Alberta Wheat Commission. Prices range from $240 to $340 per metric tonne across various regions of Manitoba and Saskatchewan, based on data as of July 24. Producers are advised to check with multiple grain companies for basis levels specific to their area.
