Canada Investment Summit Unveils $327 Billion in Proposed Projects
The Canada Investment Summit revealed an impressive 167 prospectus projects worth an estimated total value of $327.1 billion. These projects span eight investment categories and aim to reach a staggering $1 trillion in investments over five years.
One of the top projects is the West Coast Oil Pipeline, which would transport up to one million barrels per day of oilsands crude from Alberta to the northwest BC coast. Estimated to cost $43.7 billion, this project is still in its conceptual phase.
The Ksi Lisims LNG Project, valued at $10 billion, involves constructing a floating liquefied natural gas facility with a capacity to produce 12 million tonnes of LNG per year. This project is located near the village of Gingolx in Nisga'a BC and is owned by the Nisgaa Nation.
The Woodfibre LNG Project, worth $5.1 billion, involves constructing a new liquefied natural gas facility using electric drive at the former Woodfibre Pulp Mill near Squamish. This project has already started construction.
