Canada, Ukraine Expand Energy Cooperation with Focus on LNG, Nuclear Power
Canada and Ukraine are strengthening their energy partnership, focusing on liquefied natural gas (LNG), nuclear power, and reconstruction efforts. The two countries' energy ministers met in Calgary to discuss a strategic agreement signed earlier this year.
The agreement aims to support Ukraine's energy security, recovery, and long-term reconstruction. Canada has contributed $10 million to the Ukraine Energy Support Fund, bringing its total contribution to $100 million.
The countries are also exploring potential long-term agreements for Canadian LNG supply to Ukraine, with a focus on markets, transportation networks, storage infrastructure, and regulatory frameworks.
