The ongoing trade war between Canada and the US has led to Canada implementing counter-tariffs on $19.7 billion of US imports, including a wide range of goods beyond autos, dairy, and alcohol.

In response to this escalation, Ottawa hosted the first Canada Investment Summit in Toronto, where it presented 167 project prospectuses to investors managing over $100 trillion.

The majority of American managed money was present at the summit, despite efforts by the world's richest sovereign wealth funds to diversify their portfolios. According to leaked reports, around $360 billion in pledges were made during the event, with mining being the largest category by number, but relatively cheap, totaling over $53 billion.
