Canada's Ksi Lisims LNG Secures Third International Offtake Deal with Santos
Ksi Lisims LNG has signed its third international offtake agreement with Santos, one of Australia's leading domestic gas suppliers and major liquefied natural gas (LNG) supplier in Asia. The deal is for the sale and purchase of 1 million tonnes per annum of LNG from Ksi Lisims for a term of 20 years.
This marks the third international agreement signed by Ksi Lisims this year, following deals with Uniper and SEFE, both Germany-based companies. The project will be Canada's second-largest LNG terminal, exporting up to 12 million tonnes per annum of LNG.
Ksi Lisims LNG is a $30-billion project that includes the Nisga'a Nation as a key partner. It aims to contribute the world's lowest-emission LNG to markets still dependent on coal or more emissions-intensive LNG, with the potential to reduce global emissions by 9-14 million tonnes of CO2 per year.
