Canadian Dollar Hits Highest Close Since June, TSX Reaches New High
The Canadian dollar reached its highest close since June 5 on Tuesday.
The loonie finished at US$0.7180, or with a value of US$1 to C$1.3927, compared to Monday's closing rate of US$0.7173 and a value of US$1 to C$1.3942.
Despite modest losses earlier in the day, crude oil prices rose due to ongoing doubts about the Strait of Hormuz's reopening.
The TSX/S&P Composite Index set another all-time high at 36,661.19 points before settling at 36,475.92, a gain of 17.59 points from Monday.
