Canola Futures Climb Amid Rising Soy Prices
ICE Canola futures strengthened on Monday morning, influenced by the rising Chicago soy complex. The increase in soy prices was driven by speculation that China might purchase more soybeans from the US before the upcoming summit between Presidents Xi Jinping and Donald Trump. Additionally, European rapeseed prices were increasing, but Malaysian palm oil experienced losses.
Crude oil declined sharply, which put a cap on the gains in vegetable oils. An analyst noted that the market is 'quite long' and this might be causing a selloff.
The Prairie forecast predicted temperatures in the low to mid-20s Celsius with no rain over the next few days, which could lead to increased harvesting activity.
