Capstone Energy+ Secures Argentina Order for Remote LNG Power Supply
Capstone Energy+, a leading provider of behind-the-meter clean gas turbine energy solutions, has secured a 2.6 MW order to supply electricity to a remote natural gas compression plant in Argentina. The company shipped two C1000S gas turbines and one C600S turbine to the site, which is expected to provide power for a new natural gas compression facility in Río Negro Province. The facility will support an LNG export facility, with the turbines selected for their reliability and low-maintenance design. The systems are slated for commissioning in August 2027.
Vince Canino, President and CEO of Capstone Energy+, emphasized the project's significance in highlighting the role of distributed generation in supporting critical energy infrastructure in remote areas. He noted that Capstone's scalable and quick deployments offer resilient energy solutions essential for such environments. Sebastián Ochoa Marquinez, Director at THP, praised Capstone's technology for its reliability, flexibility, and ability to provide a plug-and-play solution for installation.
The project underscores the importance of continuity of power supply, as the system is expected to support infrastructure serving planned LNG export operations. The turbines will facilitate the movement of LNG to Europe, Asia, and other regions, further cementing Capstone's position in delivering clean and reliable energy solutions.
