Cargill Expands Poultry Production in Thailand Amid Rising Global Demand
Cargill is expanding its poultry production in Thailand as part of a $60 million investment to meet growing global demand for high-quality protein. The company will invest 2 billion baht ($60 million) in a new automated line for cooked chicken products at its Saraburi facility, which is expected to start operations in 2028.
The expansion aims to increase production of cooked poultry products to around 160,000 tons and generate an additional $750 million in export revenue. Cargill exports these products to foodservice and retail customers in other Asian markets, including Japan, as well as to Europe and North America.
In addition to the new automated line, Cargill is also building a 30,000-ton grain silo in northeastern Thailand for raw materials used in poultry feed production. The project is due to be completed by December and will improve flexibility in grain procurement throughout the year.
