Carney and Smith Unveil Pacific Link Pipeline Project
Prime Minister Mark Carney and Alberta Premier Danielle Smith announced the Pacific Link pipeline project, which will carry oil from Bruderheim to a port near Delta, BC.
The $35.2 billion to $43.7 billion project has been designated as a national interest under the Building Canada Act, streamlining rules and timelines for its construction.
The goal is to complete consultations, environmental safeguards, financing, and Indigenous partnerships by September 1st, 2027, allowing for construction to begin.
Pacific Link will create hundreds of thousands of jobs and unlock Canada's potential as a global energy superpower, according to Carney.
