Caturus Secures Major LNG Deal with Saudi Aramco for Louisiana Export Project
Caturus, a US-based gas producer, has signed a significant long-term agreement with Saudi Aramco. The two companies have inked a 20-year deal to supply 1 million tonnes per annum of liquefied natural gas (LNG) from Caturus' proposed Louisiana export project.
The agreement marks another major milestone for Commonwealth LNG, the LNG export arm of Caturus' integrated natural gas platform. This deal follows the company's goal to secure an off-take of 8 million tonnes per annum to move towards a final investment decision (FID).
Commonwealth LNG expects its Phase 1 development to generate $3.5 billion in annual export revenue, with operations set to begin in 2030.
Aramco joins other prominent companies that have signed long-term contracts with the project, including Glencore, Japan's JERA, Malaysia's Petronas, Meruria, and EQT Corp.
