CBOT Wheat, Corn, Soybean Futures Decline on September 23
Futures for wheat, corn, and soybeans declined on the Chicago Board of Trade (CBOT) on September 23. Wheat fell across all major US exchanges, with December soft red winter wheat down 1.22% to $260.32 per ton.
Corn also closed lower despite a private sale of 100 thousand tons of new-crop corn to Mexico being reported by the USDA. Analysts expect US corn export sales for the week at 0.8-1.4 million tons, while Coceral cut its 2026 corn crop forecast for the EU and UK to 48.6 million tons.
Soybean futures also moved lower ahead of a meeting between US and Chinese leaders, with traders reducing risk exposure in anticipation of signals on future trade relations. The Paris MATIF market declined as well, with December wheat falling 1.48% to €240.50 per ton or $275.35 per ton.
