Cenovus Energy has reported record operational performance in its second-quarter 2026 results. The Canadian integrated energy producer saw upstream production reach a new milestone, exceeding 1 million barrels of oil equivalent per day (MBOE/d) for the first time in July 2026.

The company's shares rose by 4.48% to $40.81 after the presentation, approaching its 52-week high of $44.13. Cenovus has delivered over $16 billion in cumulative shareholder returns since 2021, representing approximately 22% of its current market value.

The strong results prompted management to increase full-year 2026 production guidance by 25 MBOE/d to 990 MBOE/d at the midpoint while reducing operating cost guidance across Oil Sands, Conventional, and Asia Pacific segments. The company generated $5.6 billion in cash from operating activities and $5.0 billion in adjusted funds flow during the quarter, both representing all-time highs.
