Centalion Expands Haynesville Gas Portfolio with Major Texas Louisiana Acquisition
Centalion Group has significantly expanded its presence in the Haynesville shale basin with the acquisition of natural gas assets in Texas and Louisiana from Silver Hill Energy Partners. The deal includes approximately 300 million cubic feet per day (MMcfd) of net natural gas production, 72,000 net acres, and 300 gross operated development locations, strengthening Centalion’s Gulf Coast natural gas trading strategy.
The acquired assets, built by Silver Hill between late 2021 and mid-2023, provide Centalion with a robust production base and future growth opportunities. Despite market volatility, Silver Hill increased production from below 100 MMcfd to over 300 MMcfd by optimizing drilling and infrastructure investments, including gathering systems and saltwater-disposal capacity.
Centalion Chairman and CEO Gary Pedersen highlighted the acquisition’s strategic value, offering a scalable position in the Haynesville region and long-term development potential. The company plans to invest in US natural resources, support local economies, and enhance domestic energy supplies. The deal also deepens Centalion’s partnership with Western Natural Resources (WNR), aiming to expand their Gulf Coast natural gas footprint.
The acquisition positions Centalion as a major private operator in the Haynesville basin, with access to key demand centers and LNG export facilities. While it strengthens Centalion’s supply platform, the impact on natural gas prices and chemical commodity markets will depend on development schedules, infrastructure, and demand dynamics.
