CENTCOM Blocks Iran's Oil Exports Amid Ongoing Strait of Hormuz Security Efforts
The US Central Command (CENTCOM) has achieved a significant milestone in its efforts to protect maritime traffic through the Strait of Hormuz. Over the past couple of months, CENTCOM forces have facilitated the shipping of over 1 billion oil barrels out of the strait, said CENTCOM chief Adm. Brad Cooper.
This achievement comes as the flow volume of crude oil, liquid natural gas, and other cargo in the past two weeks has reached its highest point since the start of the conflict with Iran on February 28th. The primary transit routes in the choke point have been cleared of mines, according to Cooper.
Iran's exports, however, have come to a standstill due to CENTCOM's 'ironclad blockade'. Meanwhile, hundreds of thousands of Iranians participated in a rally in Tehran, allegedly willing to receive limited military training. The Iranian regime has registered over 600,000 volunteers for the new force, with more than 1 million expected to participate.
US President Donald Trump has stated that Iran wants to make a deal but is not yet ready. He will address this issue in his speech at the UN General Assembly annual meeting on September 22nd.
