CENTCOM Reports Record Crude Oil Transits Through Strait of Hormuz Amid Ongoing US-Iran Tensions

The U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) has announced that over 1 billion barrels of crude oil have passed through the Strait of Hormuz in recent months, despite Iran's claims that its exports were unaffected by the U.S. naval blockade.

CENTCOM Commander Admiral Brad Cooper noted that this milestone was achieved while assisting more than 2,000 commercial ship transits through the strait, providing coordinated protection and clearing transit lanes of dangerous mines.

Cooper emphasized that even with progress made, the U.S. military remains vigilant in its efforts to maintain the flow of traffic through the Strait of Hormuz, working closely with regional partners and stakeholders to enhance air defense capabilities and keep the waterway open.
