Centenary Thurles Leads Irish Co-ops with Harvest Prices for 2026

Centenary Thurles has become the first co-op in Ireland to announce its grain prices for the 2026 harvest season. The Tipperary-based co-op will pay €225/t for feed barley, including bonuses, and €237/t for feed wheat. Feed oats will receive a price of €220/t, while feed beans are valued at €275/t. Rye will be paid out at €220/t.

The prices also reflect a bonus of €9/t on cereals, which brings the base price to €216/t for feed barley and €228/t for feed wheat. The co-op pays a transport bonus to most growers and the majority qualify for the full co-op bonus.

Centenary Thurles chairperson Paddy Daly said that the tillage growers are an essential part of the Centenary Thurles family and the wider agri-food industry. Despite the uncertainty in grain markets, the co-op is pleased to announce a price that reflects current market realities while recognizing the importance of rewarding growers for their commitment, quality, and loyalty.

The value of Irish-grown grain extends beyond the farm gate as it strengthens regional supply chains, reduces dependence on imports, and ensures the economic value remains within rural communities. Centenary Thurles believes the proposed Harvest 2026 pricing provides a fair and competitive return to growers while enabling the co-op to maintain a strong local grain supply.
