CFTC Report Reveals Notable Positioning Across Grains, Energy, and Metals
The U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) released its weekly Commitments of Traders report for the period ending September 15, 2026.
The data covers open interest and positioning across various agricultural, energy, and metals contracts.
In the wheat complex, Chicago Board of Trade soft red winter wheat recorded an open interest of 485,138 contracts. Producer/merchant short positions stood at 134,063 against long positions of 60,444.
Corn on the Chicago Board of Trade posted the largest open interest among the grains at 1,843,824 contracts, with producer/merchant shorts standing at 1,097,930 and managed money holding 483,738 long and 69,278 short contracts.
