Cheniere Reaches Major Milestones with Corpus Christi Liquefaction Expansion and 5,000th LNG Cargo
Cheniere Energy, Inc., the leading LNG producer and exporter in the US, has achieved two significant milestones. The company has completed the Corpus Christi Liquefaction Stage 3 project ('CCL Stage 3') on August 28th, with Bechtel turning over care, custody, and control of the seventh and last train to Cheniere. This expansion adds over 20% to Cheniere's LNG production capacity, bringing it to approximately 56 million tonnes per annum.
The project was completed safely, on budget, and ahead of schedule, solidifying Cheniere's track record of excellence in project execution. Cheniere Chairman, President, and CEO Jack Fusco attributed the success to the hard work, dedication, and commitment of the workforce.
Cheniere also celebrated its 5,000th LNG cargo with the loading of the Yari LNG carrier on August 29th, marking a remarkable achievement in just 10 years since its first cargo. The company has supplied over 340 million tonnes of LNG to markets worldwide and now represents over 10% of total global LNG capacity.
Cheniere's achievements are a testament to its industry-leading track record of operational excellence, safety, and customer focus. The company continues to provide a clean, secure, and affordable solution to the growing global need for natural gas.
