Chennai Gold Price Dips by Rs 2,160 on July 24 Amid Significant Yearly Increase

The price of gold in Chennai decreased by Rs 2,160 per sovereign on July 24. This brings the current price to Rs 1,05,840 per sovereign and Rs 13,230 per gram.

Compared to last year's price, gold has surged significantly. On July 24, 2025, the price was Rs 74,040 per sovereign (Rs 9,255 per gram), while on July 24, 2026, it stands at Rs 1,05,840 per sovereign (Rs 13,230 per gram). This marks an increase of Rs 31,800 or about 42.94%.

The decrease in gold price is not the only significant change. Silver prices have also dropped to Rs 240 per gram on July 24 from Rs 245 per gram on July 23. On a yearly basis, silver has decreased by Rs 5 per gram.
