Chennai Gold Price Jumps 760 Rupees Per Sovereign on October 2

Chennai's gold prices rose by Rs 760 per sovereign on October 2. The new price of gold is now at Rs 1,10,200 per sovereign and Rs 13,775 per gram. This increase comes after a rise of Rs 95 per gram from the previous day.

The silver price also increased to Rs 245 per gram (Rs 2,45,000 per kg) on October 2, up by Rs 5 from the previous day's price of Rs 240 per gram.

Compared to last year, gold prices have seen a significant increase. On October 2, 2025, the gold price was at Rs 87,040 per sovereign (Rs 10,880 per gram), whereas on the same date this year, it is Rs 1,10,200 per sovereign (Rs 13,775 per gram). This marks an increase of Rs 23,160 per sovereign or about 26.60%.
