Chennai Gold Price Jumps by Rs 2,320 as Silver Rises by Rs 5

The price of gold in Chennai has increased by Rs 2,320 per sovereign on September 3.

This brings the new price to Rs 1,13,920 per sovereign and Rs 14,240 per gram, marking an increase of Rs 290 per gram from the previous day's rate.

Silver prices have also risen by Rs 5, selling for Rs 260 per gram (Rs 2,60,000 per kg) on September 3, up from Rs 255 per gram on September 2.

In comparison to last year, gold remains significantly higher, with a price increase of Rs 4,435 per gram or about 45.23% for 22-carat gold, which is now priced at Rs 14,240 per gram compared to Rs 9,805 per gram on September 3, 2025.
